A New ISP In Town(or Space)

In a brave effort to provide Internet coverage around the world in space, major tech companies such as SpaceX and Amazon, are launching thousands of satellites into our orbit.

The current number is just under 8000 units to date. However, that number will soon jump significantly, to 50000. Here’s an image to help with your imagination.

Curious to see what they are all doing up there? Here is more information.

Is this necessary? Yes, about half of the population in the world still don’t have access to the Internet. It is difficult to run a cable or Fiber Optic line to some areas.

It is interesting to see technology growing to this stage. The one concern that crossed my mind is “Who is going to clean up the debris when these satellites crash into each other? Will astronomers still be able to see into space?"
